When I listen to politicians, most of the time I find myself getting irritated, edgy and sometimes downright angry. Obama’s 2014 State of the Union address was no exception. There were so many points of disagreement that I hardly know where to start.
As pointed out by the New American magazine the dude is pushing more “Facism By Decree” “wherever and whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, that’s what I’m going to do. ” by promising to take “executive action” to seize more land, attack gun rights, redistribute the wealth “average wages have barely budged…Our job is to reverse those trends” and create more private-public partnerships “My administration has launched two hubs for high-tech manufacturing in Raleigh and Youngstown, where we’ve connected businesses to research universities that can help America lead the world in advanced technologies. Tonight, I’m announcing we’ll launch six more this year.” Is this promoting more freedom or more facism? I vote the latter myself.
Climate Change is a Fact
Meanwhile, as he spoke a snowstorm was crippling Washington and days later even Atlanta, Georgia was caught off guard with a totally unexpected snowfall that brought a city that is not built for snow to a halt. But according to Obama, climate change is simply a fact.
” The shift to a cleaner energy economy won’t happen overnight, and it will require tough choices along the way. But the debate is settled. Climate change is a fact.”
Climate change is a fact? When this is happening across our nation:
“Unseasonably cold weather in the U.S. has led to at least 21 deaths and resulted in freezing temperatures in all 50 states on Tuesday, according to reports.”
I traveled by car across the country in early January taking a Southern route through Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. It was below freezing in most cities during the night, cold during the day and never reached above 40 until we reached Los Angeles where it was in the 40’s that night when we stopped in Santa Monica for something to eat.
Statistically temperatures have trended lower. According to a report by the UN’s global warming pushing IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), the earth hasn’t warmed for the last 15 years!
But of course, that is just a mistaken computer model the apologists claim. Don’t pay any attention to that man behind the curtain of course. For I am the Great and Powerful Wizard of…….
And here I thought the debate was all settled, climate change is a fact, according to Obama anyway. (Anyone looking for a bridge in Brooklyn? Got one cheap.)
Obama claimed: “While we have put al Qaeda’s core leadership on a path to defeat, the threat has evolved, as al Qaeda affiliates and other extremists take root in different parts of the world. In Yemen, Somalia, Iraq, and Mali, we have to keep working with partners to disrupt and disable these networks. In Syria, we’ll support the opposition that rejects the agenda of terrorist networks.”
Meanwhile, according to a recent article which appeared on CNN online:
The recent fighting in Iraq has posed a serious challenge to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and his government, raising questions about his ability to hold the country together amid a rising insurgency.
Is this what Obama calls “a path to defeat’? After over a decade of occupation, thousands of lives (military and civilian) lost and over a Trillion $ spent, we leave and Al Qaeda grows. What was the point? Who got defeated here I wonder?
And for a war that resulted in this kind of change, Cory Remsburg, and others like him ended up maimed for life? Personally, while I absolutely feel for Cory, I don’t think this type of event deserves a standing ovation but rather anger at why young people like Cory end up permanently damaged fighting in a war that did little to change anything for the better…here or there.
Fighting for our freedom my you know what. More like fighting to enrich the defense industry and promote the globalist One World Government agenda methinks.
On the one hand:
Five years ago, we set out to change the odds for all our kids. We worked with lenders to reform student loans, and today, more young people are earning college degrees than ever before.
On the other
We’re offering millions the opportunity to cap their monthly student loan payments to ten percent of their income, and I want to work with Congress to see how we can help even more Americans who feel trapped by student loan debt.
So while, Obama and his enablers continue to push for more wonderful sounding government sponsored student loans, this is the reality that our students and nation faces:
Forbes Magazine Online- 8/7/2013
Two-thirds, that’s right, two-thirds of students graduating from American colleges and universities are graduating with some level of debt. How much? According to The Institute for College Access and Success (TICAS) Project on Student Debt, the average borrower will graduate $26,600 in the red. While we’ve all heard the screaming headlines of graduates with crippling debt of $100,000 or more, this is the case for only about 1% of graduates. That said, one in 10 graduates accumulate more than $40,000.
Personally, I have talked to people earning $14 an hour who acquired $70,ooo and $80,000 of student debt at the company I work for. So I think Forbes may be a little conservative with their numbers. Is this level of debt considered helping young people?
Fact is, government has eliminated competition in the market place for education by making public loans freely available. As a result, colleges have raised their prices. Why not? The money, thanks to our politicians like Obama, which comes from the public will pay for their educations regardless of cost. So with competition eliminated, educational costs have skyrocketed. Like everything the government gets involved in (Think health care here too!) costs rise as competition for consumer dollars in a free marketplace fades.
So are we going to just sit back and let this lame duck President with a decidedly UnConstitutional bent simply march onwards towards the dismantling of what is left of our Constitutionally affirmed freedoms and principles? Unless America wakes up soon en masse….tyranny, NOT freedom, will be the watchword of the day. That’s not what I dream of. How about you?
And to cap it all off. Here is what Obama really said during the State of the Union address. (Reading between the lines of course.)
