Why Donald Trump Did Not Violate Campaign Finance Laws – Despite the Hype From the Progressive Media

By Terry | Donald Trump

Lady Justice with scales and mask

Michael Penn, former Clinton campaign pollster, made the case on The Hill, why Donald Trump did not violate campaign laws. In doing so, he proves a double standard being used by the “justice” (intentionally in quotes) system.

One standard, grossly weighted in bias towards guilty, is applied to Donald Trump and conservatives. The other, grossly weighted in bias towards not guilty. is applied to Hillary Clinton and the left.

In the balance, true justice goes out the window. Today in our politically imbalanced “justice” system, there is no true justice. Justice is, in fact, far less than blind. It is clearly biased in favor of one side (the leftist progressive, aka Marxist sympathizer) over the conservative American nationalist.

Who Is Michael Cohen?

Cohen was first of all being investigated for secret trips to Russia that even his now lawyer, Lanny Davis, says are absolutely untrue accusations. Cohen was never in Russia. So theMichael Cohen - Trumps Accused Lawyer investigation and seizure of Cohen’s records had no factual basis to begin with. However, we all know that Mueller and his team don’t need facts or truth to act upon. Think uncorroborated Russian dossier here, used to obtain FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign.

It has become clear that Michael Cohen, whom Donald Trump has described only as one of his lawyers not “his” do-it-all fixer lawyer as the New York Times hyperbole puts it. And a relatively minor one at that.

Donald Trump said he became aware of Cohen when he began buying properties in Trump buildings.

Cohen according to the New York Times was “a hard-edge personal injury lawyer and businessman” who “often operated in the backwaters of the financial and legal worlds”. Not sure one can completely trust that description since the New York Times also called Cohen, Trump’s “do-it-all fixer”, a title that Donald and evidence says is hardly true.

Additionally, the Times is a confirmed enemy of Donald Trump and very prone to hyperbole as we all have seen for over 2 years now since Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President.

Cohen bought taxi medallions valued at about $250,000 each and once owned 30 of them. He borrowed this technique from his father-in-law who was a taxi cab driver who came to NYC from the Eukraine and initially found work as a taxi cab driver. Cohen used the medallions to collateralize loans on money he borrowed. The value of the medallions has dropped now that ride sharing companies like Lyft and Uber have arrived.

Some of the loans were used to purchase properties from which Cohen made money. In 2014, LLC’s (limited liability corporations) connected to Cohen sold 4 Manhattan buildings netting cash transactions worth about $32 million, almost tripling Cohen’s original investment.

Cohen also ran his own legal practice for ten years from 1996 to 2006 primarily as a personal injury lawyer. He, of course, had hundreds of clients. While some of his clients were accused of being affiliated with insurance fraud rings that staged accidents, Cohen was never accused of any wrong doing.

While Cohen is not in the most respected profession on the planet, personal injury lawyer and business entrepreneur, he also does not appear to be the big criminal that the media seems to be casting him either. However, his shadiness relates to Donald Trump and was none of Donald’s doing.

Fact is, that when indicted by the Feds (especially these days) in our unjust system euphemistically called our “justice” system, they will get you on something. As Stalin was reported to have said, You show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.” Cohen knowing that was compelled to “sing and compose” as the judge in the Paul Manafort case put it.

Cohen’s Sell Out

Lanny Davis

Among Lanny Davis’ Clients- Harvey Weinstein and Jerry Sandusky (Penn State scandal)

Cohen’s first sign of a sell out was hiring Lanny Davis as his attorney. Davis has been a legal representative for both Bill and Hillary Clinton. He is a die hard Clinton supporter, firmly in her camp with a transparent bias who avidly attempts to appear objective, posing all opposition as the biased ones twisting the truth.

In short, you could show him a yellow shirt that Hillary called black and Davis would argue till the cows come home that it was black. He’s that kind of guy. See this article for more facts on this nefarious Clinton man.

Cohen had recorded his client (Donald Trump) attempting to entrap him.

He had also sold information about Trump to corporations for millions of dollars while acting as his lawyer and did not pay taxes on the millions. Enough to nail him with for Mueller, as we saw with Paul Manafort’s rejuvenated  tax case from 2005. For Mueller, any port in a storm will do.

Also enough for Cohen to start composing and singing as well.

Cohen Pleads Guilty

As The Hill puts it:

The sweetener for the prosecutors, of course, was getting Cohen to plead guilty to campaign violations that were not campaign violations. Money paid to people who come out of the woodwork and shake down people under threat of revealing bad sexual stories are not legitimate campaign expenditures. They are personal expenditures. That is true for both candidates we like and candidates we do not.

In short, since the payment was made out of personal funds, not campaign funds, they are not campaign expenditures.

Cohen also pled guilty to a campaign violation for having “coordinated” the American Media payment to Karen McDougal for her story- not actually for having made the payment. In other words, Cohen is pleading guilty for a corporate contribution he did not make!

As precedent, in John Edwards 2012 case, none of the donors faced any legal issues. Additionally, the Federal Election Commission ruled that their campaign contributions were payments that did NOT have to be reported.

The only question left here is whether the payments were made to or had influence on the campaign which to be objective is not a very strong case at all.

Of course, with 222 mentions in one day by the leftist Democrat sycophants in the media using the word “impeachment” what comes to mind is the line spoken by Queen Gertrude in Act 3, Scene 2 in Shakespeare’s Hamlet “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.” when one hears such an onslaught. Let’s see why.

The Real Guilty Party Here

While Mueller frantically scrambles to dig something (Anything will do, anything!) on Donald Trump now that the Russian collusion hoax has pretty much run its course. The real Russian collusion, staring us all in the face, goes untouched. This is where the second part of the double standard, complete lenient disregard of any laws broken by progressive favorites, comes into play.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign, as we now know, paid millions of dollars through the political research firm Fusion GPS and former British MI6 spy, Christopher Steele, to Russian agents for (as it turns out) a phony dossier. A document that was leaked by John Brennan among others to the press in October, just before the election. Not a whit about this purchase was listed on Hillary Clinton’s campaign expenditure form, “despite crystal clear laws and regulations that the ultimate beneficiaries of the the funds must be listed.” A rule that was even tightened recently.

As the Mark Penn writing for The Hill once again puts it:

There is no question that hiring spies to do opposition research in Russia is a campaign expenditure, yet no prosecutorial raids have been sprung on the law firm, Fusion GPS or Steele. The reason? It does not “get” Trump…Democrats spend potentially millions on secret opposition research and no serious criminal investigation occurs.

This is obviously yet another attempt to take Trump down by Mueller. It, like Manafort, has absolutely nothing to do with Russia collusion which is supposedly the reason that $25 million of taxpayer money has been spent so far, which is turning out to be a Russian Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump, as the popular book by Greg Jarrett puts it.

As Mark Penn concludes:

Paying for nondisclosure agreements for perfectly legal activities is not a crime, not a campaign contribution as commonly understood or ruled upon by the Federal Election Commission. Squeezing guilty pleas out of vulnerable witnesses does nothing to change those facts.

So, the double standard of our unjust system is allowed to flourish in the face of much publicly available information now that the shoe is actually on the other foot. Did you know for example that nearly 25 FBI employees have either been fired, quit or been demoted as a result of their involvement in the Mueller investigation? Bet the leftists in the media never repeat that 222 times in a day.

Solutions?

  1. Get rid of Jeff Sessions today or sooner! He has been a liability since day 2 when he recused himself.
  2. Initiate a thorough independent investigation (not an IG inspection or special counsel) into the Russian dossier after Trump declassifies the FISA warrants.
  3. Have Mueller present his evidence against the Russian Collusion the media has been trumpeting for nearly 2 years now within a few weeks at the latest.

End this witch hunt asap! It is a total waste of taxpayer money. It is an obvious attempt to hang Trump on anything. It is ignoring facts that have now become publicly obvious to the detriment of real justice.

Additionally, it is also nothing more than yet another means of creating obstruction to the Trump agenda to drain the swamp and implement desperately needed change in all of our government systems and structures. A Herculean task that needs the full attention of the Trump administration. A task that the criminals (like Rosenstein, Mueller, Brennan and Comey) are fighting with all they have got.

Why? Because they are targets if this were conducted fairly and real justice was being done.

Investigate the investigators (many of whom are dirty including Mueller and Rosenstein) so we can begin to ruin their lives like they have done to the lives of others like Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort and others. Then, we would have a chance at reinstating some authentic justice.

Right now, this is a disgusting cesspool example of the “swamp” operating like Antifa at full bore with no real opposition. It is an embarrassment to our nation. intelligence agencies and our justice systems.
